Eunyoung Seo - BRAND NEW WORK! The Shrew That Flew!

Check out the brand new Harry & Lil book from Faber & Faber... illustrated by the fabulous Eunyoung Seo! It is the third instalment of this successful series of stories written by Julia Copus.
One Saturday, in the middle of June,
one bright and windy afternoon,
all the creatures by Piggyback Wood
were getting ready - as fast as they could.
There was only a short time left to prepare
for the birthday party at Badger's lair.
Badger's having a birthday party and Harry and Lil are getting ready, but just as Lil is getting her favourite hat off the washing line to wear, it blows away. Harry says it's gone for good, but Lil says you should never say never "if birds can fly, shrews can, too". An umbrella doesn't work, nor does a fan... and then Deer comes along with a big green balloon!

As the sun streams through the office window here at The Organisation our thoughts turn to summer - picnics in parks and on beaches, strolling in shady woods and generally reconnecting with nature. This is a nice little article featuring one of Lorenzo Sabbatini's illustrations that extols the virtues of getting back to basics and encourages language teachers to include activities and texts inspired by nature in their lessons. Now all that is left to do is to keep our fingers crossed we actually get a summer this year!!!

Bee and Me, the new picture book from Alison Jay!

We are gearing up for the BIG publishing story of the year so far.... the first picture book both written and illustrated by our superstar artist, Alison Jay

Bee and Me is a beautiful addition to her huge list of publications, but is just that little bit special as Old Barn books have agreed to take on her own story - and what a triumph it is!

We hear much about the plight of the bumble bee population and its implications for our planet's future. This beautiful picture book makes the story personal and brings a message of hope. A little girl befriends a bee, which takes her on a journey of discovery. Alison Jay's gorgeous, original artwork points out what a sad world it would be without bees.

This book hits the shelves on the 7th April this year, so get it in your diary... this is a must have, from a truly renowned artist... and now author! Congratulations on such a beautiful piece of work Alison!
